Wondrous Word Wednesday

Mareli over at Elza Reads hosts this fun monthly meme and I thought it was about time I joined. After all, I love finding a cool word!

The concept for Wondrous Word Wednesday is fairly easy, all you have to do is share any words you came across during the month and add your name to the linky provided at the end of Marelie's post. You can make a link-up post, or just add your new word to our comment section. The word can be a new one found in a book(or new to you) or favorite words, or funny sounding words, whatever interests you.

I have a couple words that I found this month (and I remembered to jot them down).

WORD #1

This is a word I actually used when talking to a co-worker and they gave me a startled look of surprise. It just flew out of my mouth - Then I had to explain what it meant. Which I know because I often experience lack of memory and 'make stuff up'. :)

WORD #2

Roots are in Latin inchoare which means "to start work on" like a plan or idea in it's early stages of development. EX: My idea to redecorate my house is inchoate.

This was an entirely new word to me - read it in a book somewhere and remembered to jot it down. I wasn't even sure how to pronounce it - it's IN - KOH - IT - not like I would have guessed at all.

Thanks for this illuminating exercise in sharing knowledge (how pretentious sounding is that???). But, it's also really fun.

Your word chortle is one I know but have never heard used. Doesn't it sound like the sound Santa would make?

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

                            TIPS

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.
