Wednesday Web Wanderings #5

I absolutely love my new bookmark from Mitercraft, a company based on Guemes Island in the great Pacific Northwest. It's made out of wood from sustainably managed or certified forests and the selection of bookmarks is amazing and can be customized. In addition to bookmarks, they make coasters and cribbage boards and more. If you're looking for that perfect special gift, visit their website - you'll be amazed!

Good Morning America has put together a list of 22 books to read while stuck at home. Encompassing everything from fiction to thrillers to nonfiction to parental help books, there's surely something for everyone on this list.

How To Spend 42 Days Stuck in Your Room, an article by Will Schwalbe (author of End of Your Life Bookclub) is an interesting review of a book written in 1790 and how he wrote a travel book about being confined to his room. Interesting concept and execution.

A clever list-maker put their love of flowers and their love of books together to play matchmaker. Find your favorite flower and see what the book recommendation for you is......

Many celebrities are finding various ways to entertain during the virus restrictions - singing, joking, etc. Patrick Stewart (of Star Trek fame) is sharing his love of Shakespeare. Each day he is reading a sonnet (in order) on his Instagram account. You can follow it here.

One final link for you this week. Here's a brief history of word games (like crossword puzzles, etc.) that you might find interesting.

Happy Reading and Stay Safe!

TERRIE

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

                            TIPS

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.

If you like what you see and want to keep up with me, subscribe below.  Happy Reading!
