Wednesday Web Wanderings #2

Saw some cool things on the web lately and hope you find one to tickle your fancy. Silly or informative, there's random info here for everyone.

Here's a list of the 12 books most often referred by this blogging librarian. Surprisingly, I've not read any of them and, in fact, have only heard of one.....lots of new material here!

Living in Seattle, I'm very well aware of the bike riding community - there are LOTS of cyclists in the area. Here's some recommended reading (fiction and non) for the cyclist in your life.

It's nice to see the 'live greener' lifestyle showing up in the publishing world. Penguin Random House has made a major commitment and huge strides in achieving their goal of leaving a lighter footprint.

Ohio's governor is making huge strides towards having Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program available to every county in the state. The program, funded by donations and volunteers, provides free books to any pre-5 aged child who signs up.

Have you been looking for a book club but can't find one in your area? There are lots of online options and here's a recommendation list for you.

Do you sometimes find yourself in need of royalty-free photos for a project? You've probably noticed that we use pexels.com and unsplash.com often for our images (I always try to give credit for the photos we use). Now there's a library of free illustrations of the natural world available from The Smithsonian.

Hope you found something useful or interesting in the random collection above. Until next time, Happy Reading!

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

                            TIPS

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.

If you like what you see and want to keep up with me, subscribe below.  Happy Reading!
