Shelf Control - Books from the Backlog - Can't Wait Wednesday
These mid-week memes suit me well because they provide me a quick reminder to check my own shelves and see what interesting books are lingering there. How about you? Why don't you feature one of your shelf books (or e-reader) and see if that helps you decide to read it or toss it. Since this is a split focus post, I'll share a book from my bookshelf or Kindle first and something newer release (often an ARC I've received) that I'm eager to read will be next.

Both of these memes target a particular problem of mine - reading books I already own. Like many of you, I'm sure, I can't stop adding to what I already own and my stacks grow while my pocketbook shrinks!

Book I Own and Want to Read
I have had this book on my Kindle since April 2021 so it's actually a fairly recent addition (ha). At that time I was seeing it all over online and when one of my favorite podcast/blogs (Strong Sense of Place) recommended it and THEN Amazon put it on sale, I had to get it.

I've been meaning to read this book for a while now so I actually added it to my COYER challenge list to read by the end of the year. That's a pretty bold statement, but I'm standing by it! And then, serendipity struck and The Snow Child was selected for the starting point for December's 6 Degrees of Separation. TWO reasons to read it!
New Release Book I Want to Read
I own an ARC (advance reader copy) of this book and it's edging to the top of the pile as the publish date approaches. It sounds SO interesting - in one of my favorite genres, but with something new.
