Top 10 Tuesday: Looking Forward to 2023

A COVID BREAK -

I started this post a couple days ago, tested positive for Covid on Saturday and I'm down. I'm SO sick. So, a little unexpected break. Here's my pitiful, incomplete list that I already had done for this post and then there will be previously scheduled posts that were already complete. Hopefully will see you all next week!

My idea of looking forward in 2023 has changed. It's now all about covid. Looking forward, I'd like people to be more responsible and take better care of themselves and others to help reduce infections!

A new Tuesday, a new prompt for Top 10 Tuesday. Last week we shared our favorite reads of 2022. This week the prompt is books I'm looking forward to the first half of 2023.

Thanks to Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl for hosting another week of Top Ten Tuesday. I enjoy participating each week for a couple reasons. I'm a compulsive list maker and love a good list. And, I love a connection with other readers as I wander their book blogs. Here's what I'm looking forward to in no particular order.

Yellowface by R. F. Kuang

The first cover I saw (with the words) cracked me up so I had to investigate further and love the premise - a book about books and authors and what happens when rivals have to compete.

Due out in May.

Liar, Dreamer, Thief by Maria Dong

A psychological thriller about stalking, mental illness

Due out mid-January.

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

                            TIPS

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.
