Top 10 Tuesday: I'm featuring books recommended by fellow bloggers

Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl is hosting another week of Top Ten Tuesday. I enjoy participating each week for a couple reasons. I'm a compulsive list maker and love a good list. And, I love a connection with other readers as I wander their book blogs. This week's prompt is to share books that I loved so much I had to have/keep/find a copy. Well, that's not really me. I give away my books if I loved them - I want everyone to read them. And since I don't reread books, I want the books on my limited shelf space to books I want to read.

So, I'm changing it up this week and sharing books that are on my TBR because of a book blogger's recommendation (and this is just a tiny portion of them - you guys are deadly!) Here goes.

(Click the name of the book to go to the Goodreads blurb and the name of the blog to visit there)

A Dress of Violet Taffeta by Tessa Arlen

Recommended by Wendy at The Bashful Bookworm

Some historical fiction ....

A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

Recommended by Greg at Greg's Book Haven

A little sci-fi .....

Stay Awake by Megan Goldin

Recommended by Tessa at Tessa Talks Books

A thriller .....

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean

Recommended by Lydia at Lydia Schoch

Some fantasy to round things out .....

Calling For a Blanket Dance by Oscar Hokeah

Recommended by Marlene at Reading Reality

A debut contemporary fiction novel .....

Ordinary Monsters #1 by J.M. Miro

Recommended by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Now for some historical fantasy .....

Past Crimes by Glen Erik Hamilton

Recommended by Mark at Carstairs Considers

A debut murder mystery .....

Split Second #1 by Sophie McKenzie

Recommended by Jo at Book Lovers Blog

I do like a good thriller .....

Now I'm going to break the pattern (and cheat just a tiny bit) because my last two entries are sources that I use a LOT - I've learned to trust their reviews and they are prolific, always introducing me to new authors and books. I'd heartily recommend you check them out!

Modern Mrs. Darcy blog and Anne also hosts the tremendously successful What Should I Read Next podcast. Your TBR will never be the same. Here are just a random three I picked from this source (cover images link to Goodreads)

Another blogger/podcaster that often makes appearances on my TBR lists are suggestions from Mel at Strong Sense of Place.

Like I mentioned, there are SO many other books on my TBR that I've added due to my participation in Top 10 Tuesday, Stacking the Shelves, Sunday Salon, and Sunday Post book memes. My goodness, the supply of recommendations is never ending! Please take time to click through to some of those other blogs and enjoy their reviews and suggestions!

Have a calm, restful week full of good books!

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.
