Weekend Book Sharing and Blog Visits #49

It's the weekend, so it must be time to enjoy a few of my favorite book memes. This is a great opportunity for readers and bloggers to share what they've been up to - both newly received books, what you've read or want to read and any bookish or personal news/updates.

I'll be linking to: Stacking the Shelves is hosted every Saturday by Marlene @ Reading Reality The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb @ ReaderBuzz, Mailbox Monday hosted by Words and Peace is also a weekly gathering place to share new books received. Join me in visiting the wide array of book blogs in the world.

CHALLENGE and TBR UPDATE
An update on my 13 challenges:

I added only 3 books to my TBR wish list this week - that must be some kind of record!!
PERSONAL UPDATE
My first author talk in years and years - Louise Penny (author of the Inspector Gamache series) came to town and Dan surprised me with tickets! It was an excellent talk to a very receptive audience of readers that LOVE her series. She is funny and warm and thoughtful and it was such a delightful surprise treat!
It appears we here in Seattle skipped any sort of sunny spring and jumped right to summer. It's been in the mid 80s all week and the garden is making up for lost time. I don't grown veggies, I grow lots of flowers (used to be a florist in another life) and love tweaking and playing in the garden!
Our pro hockey team, the Kraken, made it into the second round of the playoffs - pretty amazing since it's our first year. Lots of Kraken mania in the city. The Mariners (the sport I watch) are struggling a bit.....nothing new there, but we do have some exciting pitchers.
