Weekend Book Sharing and Blog Visits #47

It's the weekend, so it must be time to enjoy a few of my favorite book memes. This is a great opportunity for readers and bloggers to share what they've been up to - both newly received books, what you've read or want to read and any bookish or personal news/updates.

I'll be linking to: Stacking the Shelves is hosted every Saturday by Marlene @ Reading Reality The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb @ ReaderBuzz, Mailbox Monday hosted by Words and Peace is also a weekly gathering place to share new books received. Join me in visiting the wide array of book blogs in the world.

CHALLENGE and TBR UPDATE
An update on my 13 challenges:

I added SO MANY books to my TBR in the last couple weeks as I've begun to research books for my Read the World goal. I've actually lost count, but I'm eager to start reading them!
PERSONAL UPDATE
Dan and I took advantage of a spring deal and took a couple days for a getaway. We went to Lake Quinault and stayed at the Quinault Lodge - a wonderful old (1926) building full of creaks and squeaks and not a TV anywhere (also VERY limited, spotty wifi). BUT, it had a wonderful, comfortable, inviting lobby with giant fireplace. We hiked and communed with nature. We sat inside next to the massive fireplace and had drinks and played cribbage. We ate well, slept well, and rested well. Perfect weather, beautiful scenery to hike through, the delightful company of my favorite man - it was a fabulous few days.

Above: Our day 2 hike along a branch of the Quinault River. Below: Our day 1 hike on a nature trail that winds through the woods - and since Lk Quinault is right smack in the rain forest, there's moss on everything and these trees were looking pretty eerie. The last pic is us in front of the fireplace with drinks & cribbage.
Lake Quinault is bordered by the Olympic National Forest on the south side of the lake and the Olympic National Park on the north, connected by part of the Quinault Tribal Lands.

Hope you have a most excellent upcoming week and hopefully finding time to enjoy a good book. Looking forward to visiting as many as I can again this week!
