Weekend Book Sharing and Blog Visits #33

It's the weekend, so it must be time to enjoy a few of my favorite book memes. This is a great opportunity for readers and bloggers to share what they've been up to - both newly received books, what you've read or want to read and any bookish or personal news/updates.

I'll be linking to: Stacking the Shelves is hosted every Saturday by Marlene @ Reading Reality The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb @ ReaderBuzz, Mailbox Monday hosted by Words and Peace is also a weekly gathering place to share new books received. Join me in visiting the wide array of book blogs in the world.

PERSONAL UPDATE

This last week was all about covid. A co-worker came to work all week with a cold but didn't tell us his wife was home with covid. Then he finally tested positive and stayed home Friday. Meantime, he didn't mask or warn anyone that he was in direct contact with a covid-positive person!! Although I didn't have a lot of contact with him, I apparently had enough because Friday morning I had that pre-cold tickle in my throat and by Saturday morning I was VERY sick. Super bad cold symptoms. Tested positive. Immediately isolated from my husband as much as possible - separate floors in the house, separate bathrooms, set out my own dishes etc to minimize touching things in the kitchen. All to no avail. He tested positive Monday. All because a guy at work was SO irresponsible and didn't take basic precautions or warn others so WE could take precautions. I'm SO MAD!! Ok - rant done.

We both were able to get Paxlovid and I don't know if our symptom cure rate was totally attributable to that, but after a few days I feel 90% well and my husband barely had any symptoms at all. The only residual symptom is fatigue.....I do get tired much more easily and frequently than before. Hopefully that's almost done too.

Thanks for all the well wishes last week! Sorry I didn't have the energy to visit, but I'll be sure to get around this week.

Hope you had a better week than me and take care to protect yourself and others against covid. Have a terrific upcoming week and hopefully find time to enjoy a good book. Looking forward to visiting as many as I can again this week now that I feel better!

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

                            TIPS

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.

If you like what you see and want to keep up with me, subscribe below.  Happy Reading!
