Weekend Book Sharing and Blog Visits #31

Happy New Year!!! It's the weekend, so it must be time to enjoy a few of my favorite book memes. This is a great opportunity for readers and bloggers to share what they've been up to - both newly received books, what you've read or want to read and any bookish or personal news/updates.

I'll be linking to: Stacking the Shelves is hosted every Saturday by Marlene @ Reading Reality The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb @ ReaderBuzz, Mailbox Monday hosted by Words and Peace is also a weekly gathering place to share new books received. Join me in visiting the wide array of book blogs in the world.

CHALLENGE and TBR UPDATE
I wrapped up this year with a disappointing (to me) finish on my Beat The Backlist challenge. There were 50 prompts to read from your backlist (TBR), owned or not - pretty easy, right? I ended up reading 28/50.
I joined the COYER challenge (clear out your ereader) just in time for the 4th quarter. You make a list of books you want to read in that quarter and the challenge is met if you read at least half of them. I read 28/54 - so met that challenge.
PERSONAL UPDATE
After all the wonderful holiday photos and family visit news around the blogs, this week is a much needed quieter time. We actually had a date night - our Christmas gift to ourselves, and went to see Kenny G at Jazz Alley in Seattle. Kenny is from Seattle and was in the Franklin High School band - half the concert was played on the same saxophone he learned on then! A fun night.
I actually took the week off from work so had time to read, putter around house projects, start a new crochet project, and work on some blogging projects.
Hope you all have a safe and relaxing New Year day. And here's wishing you good books and quiet time to read in 2023!

I received this yummy yarn as a gift so am working on a soft and cozy afghan.

Kenny G concert and he signed the CD Dan bought.

Hope you have a most excellent upcoming week and hopefully finding time to enjoy a good book. Looking forward to visiting as many as I can again this week!
