Reading Roundup - a quick reference list of the 10 books reviews in August
Need a quick reference guide about what we reviewed in August? Here you go:

Each month Donna and I try to pick a couple books to read together as Buddy Reads - it's fun to share our thoughts about a book in real time. This month we read Eleanor and Park and The Song of Achilles - both out of our usual genre comfort zones. Eleanor and Park is a YA romance and Song of Achilles is about the Trojan War and Achilles as a young man.
Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter - a doozy of a thriller
Lessons From Lucy by Dave Barry - can a dog teach you some new tricks?
A Memory of Violets by Hazel Gaynor - feel-good historical fiction with a touch of mystery and romance
All my Puny Sorrows by Miriam Toews - all about the strong bond sisters share

The Overstory by Richard Powers - Pulitzer winner about trees and people who want to save them
How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper - solitary middle-aged man learns to change and embrace his fears
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn - historical fiction featuring an unusually independent woman solving a murder
Nine Perfect Lives by Liane Moriarity - nine people go to a retreat and have a bizarre, scary experience
Surely something here piques your interest! Tell us in the comments which one you'll be reading, or tell us what you're reading now so we can add to OUR TBR list!
