Read the World: Some Reading is Lined Up (pt 2)
Earlier this year I committed and shared here that I have set the personal goal to read a book from every country in the world over the next few years. I feel like it's going to be a bit impossible to complete because some of the smaller countries aren't going to have translated works available, but I'm going to do my best. As I always do with a project, I started with a spreadsheet (how else am I going to keep track??). My antennae are on high alert, trying to be aware of any/all possibilities of books from anywhere in the world. As you'd imagine, some countries are VERY easy - Canada, Germany, Mexico, Spain, France, even some African countries like Nigeria and Ghana have a large representation of books from which to choose. BUT, there are oh-so-many countries that are going to be a challenge.
So, I'm asking you to keep my challenge in the back of your mind and if you come across a book either written by an author or set in a particularly unusual country, drop me a comment or email and share the book title. It will be appreciated. My current fledgling list has a variety of genres, written in different eras, and I'm eager to dive in.
Because I think just a list of titles isn't very interesting or pretty, I've added covers - but this time I didn't take the time to actually link to the books (too time consuming). I hope if you see something appealing, you'll search it yourself.
