Four Fun Friday memes to join #12

Fridays are about sharing the first sentence(s) of a current book I'm reading and a snippet from page 56 or 56% on e-reader from the same book. Fun, right? And I'm joining the BBH (Blogger Hop) to answer this week's prompt. As always, everyone is welcome - hope to see you there and sharing first sentences.......
Today's Book is:

Currently Reading:
Hounded #1 by Kevin Hearne
Genre: Fantasy
Published 2011; 289 pages

First Sentence(s): "There are many perks to living for twenty-one centuries, and foremost among them is bearing witness to the rare birth of genius. It invariably goes like this: Someone shrugs off the weight of his cultural traditions, ignores the baleful stares of authority, and does something his countrymen think to be completely batshit insane. Of those, Galileo was my personal favorite."

Page 56: "I crouched down to take a closer look at the ranger. He was a young Latino with a wispy mustache and a pair of thick lips. His aura was already gone, his soul traveling elsewhere, but when I used one of my charms to check out the magical spectrum, I saw traces of Druidry in a diamond stud in his left ear. That set off alarms."

Today's Question: What is the significance of your blog header?
I feel like my header is somewhat self explanatory: I feel like the best books take us on a journey - either emotional or cultural or for the sheer entertainment value. And my bookish journeys start on a bookshelf. :) But I did have a list of 3 or 4 names and did an informal poll with my friends and family and this was the clear favorite. Then a good friend designed it for me.

Hope you'll join in one or all of these fun memes and take a minute to visit the other participants. I'm surprised how many times a first sentence can send me looking for a book.
