For Your Convenience: We've compiled comprehensive lists of award winning books across many genres

In our ongoing efforts to provide valuable information to help on your reading journey, we've gathered together, IN ONE PLACE, lists of award winning books in a wide range of genres.

There are SO many book awards given that we restricted our efforts to the better known, more commonly read awards. And we wanted to make sure to cover as many genres as possible. If you can think of a particular award that isn't represented that you'd like to see, let us know and we'll add it.

Currently each list goes back to the year 2000. We'll gradually work on going further back and making complete lists.

The lists of Award Winning books are located on the top-of-the-page menu under the Award Lists tab. You'll find each listing has a picture of the cover, title, author, # of pages, and a brief one or two sentence synopsis. We felt that providing only a title and author doesn't give you enough information to decide if the book is of interest to you.

Under that tab you'll find:

General Fiction:

Booker (UK fiction)

National Book Award

Women's Prize

Agatha Award (cozy mystery)

Edgar Award (mystery / thriller)

Fantasy and Sci Fi:

Children's Reading:

Caldecott (awarded to the illustrator)

Newbery (children's books)

Printz Award (young adult)

Bram Stoker Award

In addition to the award winner lists, we've provided the COMPLETE reading selections for both the #Oprahbookclub and the #Reesebookclub celebrity book clubs.

As always, let us know if there's something you wish a book site would help you with and we'll try to step up. In the meantime, we hope these lists will inspire some new reading options for you.

Welcome to Bookshelf Journeys.

It's my goal to provide real reviews of the books I read without totally rehashing every plot. I'll never spoil a story by giving away a plot twist! Hopefully you'll find one or two of interest and will discover a new book or author to add to YOUR TBR list.  Take a moment to explore, read a couple reviews, and let me know what you think.

For your convenience, I use #hashtags in the reviews and when you click on one, you'll find more books with that theme. Hopefully you'll find it a helpful way to navigate the site and find books you'll enjoy. I've also recently added tags that will show up at the end of each review that serve the same purpose.

The review ratings are based on a 5 star  (1/2 stars sometimes) system with a 3 being an average read for me. I hope you find that helpful. Knowing, of course, that all opinions are just that - my opinion!  Let me know if you agree or disagree - I'd love to hear from you.
